Frequently Asked Questions
Discover everything you need to know about our handcrafted artisanal ceramics.
How should I care for my Rookwood Pottery pieces?
Most of our contemporary ceramic pieces are dishwasher safe, though we recommend hand-washing with mild soap to preserve the glaze's brilliance over time. Avoid extreme temperature shocks, such as moving a piece directly from the freezer to a hot oven.
Are your glazes lead-safe and food-secure?
Yes, all Rookwood Pottery glazes used on our dinnerware and serving pieces are 100% lead-free and meet all FDA standards for food safety.
What is your shipping policy for fragile ceramic items?
We take immense pride in our packaging. Every order is double-boxed and cushioned with eco-friendly materials to ensure your pottery arrives in perfect condition. We offer standard and expedited shipping options across the United States.
Can I return a piece if it doesn't fit my home decor?
We want you to love your purchase. If you are not completely satisfied, you may return unused items in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, excluding shipping costs.
Do you offer custom commissions or architectural tile consultations?
Yes, Rookwood has a long history of custom architectural work. Please contact our design studio directly to discuss custom tile installations, corporate gifts, or bespoke ceramic commissions.
How can I tell if my Rookwood piece is an authentic original?
Every authentic Rookwood piece is stamped on the bottom with our iconic 'RP' logo surrounded by flames. The number of flames and additional markings can help determine the specific year the piece was kiln-fired.
